Willing to learn. Willing to teach.

I have been a teacher off and on since 1998. I taught for four years in the School of Marketing at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia and was involved in many units such as Consumer Behaviour, International Marketing, Organisational Marketing, Strategic Marketing and Marketing 101. I lectured and tutored on the Bentley campus as well as other affiliated campuses in Perth, Miri, Kuala Lumper, Singapore and Hong Kong. I very much enjoyed teaching at this level and found, not surprisingly, I learnt more as a teacher than I ever did as a student.

In 2003-04 I taught at the short lived Curtin International College in Medan Indonesia. Medan is the capital city of North Sumatra and was thought to be a good site for a program that would allow students to undertake the core units of a Bachelor of Commerce from an Australian university without leaving home. Sadly this project was poorly conceived and failed after one year.

In 2006 I came to Hong Kong to teach a program affiliated with James Cook University. I later taught English at Englishtown HK and for the past five years I have been teaching both children and adults English privately. I enjoy living in Hong Kong where people are friendly and are happy to have me as their teacher.

I am an avid user of the MOOC platforms including Coursera, edX and Open2Study. I am particularly interested in behavioural subjects such as anthropology, psychology, economics and philosophy along with some business, computing and history thrown in - i.e. if they offer it I will take it!
