Carol A. Mannchen

Here I am.

I have had 3 careers. I was a welfare worker supervisor for the State of TN for 17 years, then an attorney for 20 years. I was also a mother and homemaker, raising 4 children. My first marriage lasted 27 years, and then after 9 years on my own, I met a wonderful man. After three years, we married and were very happy for 3 1/2 more years, when sadly, he passed away. I am alone again, but have 4 lovely grandsons, friends, family and church family (Lutheran) to keep me busy.
When my husband died, I decided to retire. It took me about two years to work through my cases (I represented disability applicants). Now that I am retired, I am trying to find myself. My passions are life-long learning, travel, and reading, especially with on-line reading groups. I also do water aerobics several times a week. I volunteer at the symphony. Still, I am looking for more and hope to do something either related to tutoring young people or reading aloud to children during the next year.
