Hi, I am Henrik from Essen, Germany, and I am holding the role of Chief Digital Officer at the Germany-based specialty chemicals group Evonik. I studied process engineering and own a Doctorate in the field of fluid dynamics. I also obtained a degree in business administration with a focus on information economics since I have a strong passion for combining business intent with technology. I have previously worked in various management positions in the area of innovation and strategic business development including the responsibility for a corporate high-tech startup and joined Evonik in 1999. I am serving on various national digitalization bodies and I am also a member of the advisory board of chembid, the world's largest metasearch engine specialized in chemicals and plastics.
My basic belief is that technology-focused innovation like digitalization is centered around people in the first place which makes it a matter of strategic change management. Therefore I am very much interested in social psychology and cultural sciences and eager to exchange with other people on transformation topics.
I care about sustainability which means to me continuity of awareness and adjustment of needs rather than pure renunciation. This allows me to live in a way that supports myself and the environment around me.
In my spare time you will find me cycling, sport climbing, playing piano, working on classic cars, studying philosophy or spending time with my family and friends.
