What we think, we become.

A warm welcome from the Netherlands to my page. I really love living my life as an adventurous exploration of experiences that I have not even contemplated nor considered possible.

My husband and I have been living together for over 38 years and we became parents to a beautifull daughter 20 years ago. After being childless, against our wishes, for so many years, we decided in 1992 to start our own indoor skiing school. After signing all contracts and buying the conveyorbelt-skislope we discovered, to our delight, that I was pregnant. The following years were hectic. I was working fulltime as a sales manager as well as working at night and in the weekends in our skischool, at the same time I took care of our newborn and of the day-to-day household things.

In 1999, just prior to the magical year 2000, I decided that it was high time to discover what life really is about. Stop all that hard work and start living a life where no regrets are possible. So I gave my employer my letter of resignation and pursuaded my husband to sell our skischool.

Prior to that decision I had been delving deep into teachings, learnings and techniques that enabled me to cope with my situation. At the same time I searched for evidence to prove my intuïtions around our daughter right to experts who diagnosed her with severe autism. I developed my potential in order to help my daughter develop hers.

On July 1st, 2000 my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. On the same day I quit my job, a month before we had sold our skischool. A time of renewal, of contemplation and of discovery followed. Ofcourse there was also a lot of uncertainty but today we both say that this was the best decision we've have made.

At the moment I work as a business coach. Renewing my insights and skills all the time to be the best I can be, offer the best service that I 'm able to provide. For that reason I am taking various MOOCs. But more importantly I am able to share from personal experience that no matter how gloomy the present may appear, there is always away to surpass even your wildest expectations.

My husband, my daughter, my family and friends are important and are always at the forefront of my attention. I love the outdoors, hiking, gardening, riding my bicycle, skiing and paragliding. I also enjoy the quiet time off from my busy mind and meditate on a regular basis, I play music (djembé and pow wow drum), I sing in a choir and I also practice overtone signing (Tuvan throat signing).

No matter how harsh the circumstances you are always able to have a possitive impact on others. My mother died in 1979 from ALS and although she was totally paralized she remained the linchpin of the family, comforting her husband and 8 children.
  • Wout Petri
    Opvallend Jezelf
Love, tenderness, being true to yourself. I could not wish for a better teacher than Wout teaching me the things that truly matter in life. Through his love and trust I learned to love and trust myself and the people around me.
