I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I'm the daughter of a Bajan-born father and an American-born mother. My mother, like myself, is the daughter of an American-born father and a British-born mother and bases her identity on Brooklyn cultural blends.

I started my professional career in banking. During this time, I realized that I enjoyed connecting with people. I wanted to know what they thought. I would watch them bond and mainly listen to conversations. I would use these new interests to major in Sociology at Brooklyn College and Educational Counseling at Wilmington University. My education and welfare in people would help me better serve my clients and, later, my students.
I am married with three exceptional children. In 1998 my family and I moved from my beloved Brooklyn to Delaware. It took some time for me to adjust to Delaware's unique culture, mindset, and attitude, but we changed.

I am a Youth Program Manager in the Workforce Development division of Delaware Technical and Community College. In this position, I have the opportunity to use my acquired skills and background to assist youth and adults in mentally and physically preparing for their educational journey.
