Anna Magda Studzinska
When I was a little girl, I looked like a little boy. People asked me about my favorite football players (I didn't have one) and the cars I liked the most (I didn't have an opinion). It was frustrating! I was a girl after all! However, it had it's perks: it gave me the right to behave in any way I wanted, without having to hear that ladies don't act that way. So I took advantage of it for as long as I could.
Right now I am a researcher and I study gender stereotypes. I'm interested in mis/conceptions about what does it mean to be a wo/man and the research I'm conducting for my thesis concerns the differences in social perception of men and women and of their behaviors and feelings.
I think that my childhood experiences might have had something to do with what my research is about.
I'm originally from Gdansk, Poland. I used to live in Reykjavik, Iceland. Nowadays I spend most of my time in Toulouse, France where I raise my trilingual toddler and a miniature bunny.

Denis HiltonDenis is one of my two distinguished Ph.D. advisers. He's most notable work concerns casual attribution, reasoning and decision making. He's very patient with adding and deleting all the "the" that I put into the papers that we write together (I don't get the articles...).
