Hi! I'm Suman.

A son, a friend, a poet, a web guy and an environmentalist - these are some of the roles that define me. In my current avatar, I'm an Officer Trainee at Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy at Dehradun as an Indian Forest Services Officer with the Government of India. I am the Computer Secretary of my batch here at the academy and am actively involved on the editorial of the Academy newsletter and magazine - "Jungle Book".

I have around 6.5 years of experience in the software and internet industry as a Web Developer. I've worked with Yahoo! R&D on Display Advertisements technology unit for 3 years, before I went on to start my own venture in web design and development, Saucer Labs. My main role through my web developer career has been in the domain of user experience and performance optimizations. I've spent a better part of my life in the beautiful city of Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India.

I have a blog (skybound.in) where I write poetry and short stories in my spare time. I am also interested in fitness and I completed a fitness and nutrition course from Coursera (Univ of Pittsburg). I play football (soccer) and intend to make it to the All India Sports Meet to be held in a few months time. I've found a recent love for learning new languages and am learning to speak Spanish and Nagamese.

My stint with Social Psychology will help me in dealing with the wide variety of people I'm bound to encounter as a public servant. I'm all set to head to Nagaland, India soon to begin my service and to work in the pristine forests there to help conserve nature. I hope that my diverse experience will help me bring about innovative and good solutions to the problems there.
