“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity” -Seneca
Hello! My name is Rogerio Cogo. I'm 33 years old and live in Brazil.
I'm currently working as a clinical psychologist at the Institute of Psychology and Stress Control. In psychology, besides the clinical practice, I have much appreciation for the academic area, and I'm preparing to complete a master's degree in social skills. Also, I am very interested in delving into philosophy, especially existential philosophy and the phenomenology.
My journey here began with sports. I was a kyokushin karate fighter for 17 years, of which the last 7 years received the benefit of the Federal Government was called Athlete Scholarship. As an international athlete, I have competed with South American champions, Pan American champions, and world champions. To prepare myself better, I sought resources in sport psychology, through which I identified myself and became my current passion.
With the fights I learned to perceive myself and the other in its more subtle nuances. Also, I learned to "go blank" to fight, waiting for all the possible opportunities in each fight. I have carried this learning into my clinical practice of today and consider each session as unique.

Art is another activity that is reflected in my clinical practice. I started painting in 2007, and much of my work reflects what I experienced in competitions and in my training for the fights. With art I learned to take a deeper dive into myself, trying to identify my emotional states. I also learned to pay better attention to the details and enjoy them in their unique beauty.
