My name is Mariem (El Achir) Nakkal. Born on the 2nd of September, 1998, in the vibrant city of Casablanca, I carry within me the rich heritage of Moroccan culture, as an integral part of my identity.

My journey into the realm of psychology commenced early in life, driven by a deep fascination with the intricate human psyche. A dedicated path towards becoming a clinical psychologist has been my resolute pursuit, kindled by an unwavering desire to unravel the complexities of our thoughts and emotions.

During my bachelor's studies of fundamentals of psychology, I was initiated to social psychology, sparking an insatiable curiosity within me. Guided by awe and passion, I embarked on an online social psychology course offered by Coursera and Wesleyan University, which further deepened my understanding in various topics in the field. My commitment and dedication culminated in my attainment of certification and the privilege to serve as a social psychology mentor, under the gracious guidance of Professor Scott Plous.

One facet that deeply captivates my attention revolves around delving into the intricate dynamics of violence. My pursuit of comprehending these dynamics is driven by a sincere aspiration to contribute to a heightened grasp of human behavior, ultimately fostering a more compassionate and empathetic world.

With an unwavering dedication to sustainable learning, I am driven to make a substantive impact within the sphere of mental health and well-being. In addition to my academic endeavors, I derive solace and inspiration from the realms of literature, writing, and diverse forms of artistry.

From sketching and canvas painting to dance and even my humble attempts at playing the piano (still entranced by its magic), writing, and capturing moments through photography, these creative outlets serve as conduits for channeling my thoughts and emotions.
