Hello! My name is Meghan.

As of now, I find great fascination in social sciences as a whole, and am looking to narrow down my field of interest.

I also have a very deep passion for the arts. I personally have played the piano for the better part of a decade, and engage in a lot of drawing, painting, and other 2-D art medias. I enjoy writing and reading, and one of many dreams of mine is pursuing a career in journalism. I'd like to make an impact on the world with what I do, whether it be through impactful research in social sciences or through inspiring others through art.

I am a high-school student and am enrolled in multiple honors courses, and have a great curiosity for learning. While the work can get tedious and isn't necessarily my calling, I still enjoy learning about the chainlink of events that is history (I am currently enrolled in the Advanced Placement US History track), and find myself awed by the complexities of genetic makeup and the elements.

As for my future, I am strongly leaning towards a career in the social sciences, especially sociology and anthropology. I am currently studying for the Advanced Placement Psychology exam, and am enrolled to take a sociology course at my high school in the coming year. I am also part of a social science course run by Wesleyan professor, Scott Plous.

Like Sylvia Plath once wrote, "I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked [...] I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest." I can find some calling in me for a multitude of careers and lifelong passions, but at the trunk of this tree all my life's figs stem from the passion I have to leave behind a legacy that touches the hearts of people through my work.
