Amazon warrior masquerading as a mild-mannered single mom

I’m Megan, and I’m currently living in the Boston area, where I work as a genetic scientist. My work focuses on understanding the intricate dance between biology, psychology, and even spirituality—a combination that might sound unusual, but it’s at the core of how I see the world. I’m fascinated by how these seemingly different areas come together to shape human behavior and well-being.

Growing up with a parent who’s a psychologist had a big influence on my life. I was always exposed to conversations about how people think, feel, and act. But instead of following the traditional psychology route, I chose to take my curiosity a step further. By blending science with spiritual studies, I’ve carved out my own path, exploring not only how genes and biology shape us, but also how things like mindfulness and empathy play a role in who we are. It’s the overlap between these fields that really excites me.

I’d describe myself as fairly laid back, but there are definitely topics that get me fired up! I’m particularly passionate about creating a world where people are kinder and more empathetic toward one another. It may sound like a lofty goal, but it’s what drives a lot of what I do, both professionally and personally. I believe that if we can understand ourselves on a deeper level, we can make a positive impact on the world around us.

When I’m not diving into deep conversations about life or work, you’ll usually find me playing guitar (one of my favorite ways to unwind) or getting lost in a good book. I love how both activities allow me to disconnect and tap into a creative side that’s so different from my day job.

And just for fun, here’s a quirky fact about me—I can roll, curl, and flip my tongue! I haven’t met anyone else who can do all three, so if you can, let’s compare skills!

I’d love to connect with anyone who’s interested in talking about the intersection of science, psychology, or spirituality—or even just about great books and music. Feel free to reach out!
