I have taught at Lycoming College and Pennsylvania College of Technology. I began teaching composition and literature. After earning a doctorate in interpersonal communication from Pennsylvania State University, I shifted to teaching public speaking, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, and organizational communication. I also served as department head for the Communication and Literature Department at Penn College
