Jacob Sims
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer," - Frank Herbert, Dune
I am a full time English Foreign Language teacher, currently residing in the Gyeongsangnamdo province of South Korea. I enjoy the outdoors and can usually be found exploring the numerous national parks here in South Korea as well as training for marathons and ultra-marathons. I have a passion for travel, which is primarily how I ended up on the eastern side of the world, as well as a passion for making connections. I plan to spend the next few years circumnavigating the globe while teaching English to non-native speakers.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a focus in Interpersonal Communication from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Prior to my current position, I spent time in the healthcare field instructing medical staff in medical software. Through my studies in Communication, I have fostered an interest in Social Psychology and how it can help us understand cultural differences and break down barriers so we as humans can better understand each other.
My current aspirations are to work towards a graduate degree in Social Psychology, while also studying the effects of anxiety in migrant workers and how to help alleviate the anxieties and stresses of working and living in a new country.
