Mrs. Gail Geraldine Bester
Lex orandi, lex credendi
I was born in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa, recently my husband, two daughters and myself moved to, Gqaberha/Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. I studied Horticulture, Biological Sciences at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, my career took me in the direction of Facility/Operational/Project Management which I found complimented my studies quite well. I do dabble in growing my own vegetables at home.
I have a (two) daughter(s) who is diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), not having known anything about this disorder, I want to understand more about how I can assist her and understand her more because she cannot not always communicate what she is going through. The reason I put the "two" in brackets is because I do not concur with the diagnosis of my other daughter.
I have a passion to assist people less fortunate (especially in our current climate) than me, in a dignified manner, spending and giving of my time to our elderly. I belong to Society of St Vincent de Paul and volunteer once a week at Nazareth House, Port Elizabeth. I find that my faith in God, gives me strength and purpose to carry on with my life, looking after my family and others. Applying the following "love your neighbour as you love our self" (Bible, Jesus) is how I try and live my life.
I am currently open to new ventures i.e career opportunities, new challenges etc, hence I decided to enhance my knowledge by doing the online Social Psychology course through Wesleyan University.
I look forward to being on SPN and communication between my peers.

Winnie MandelaANC Woman's LeagueWinnie Mandela was the wife of Nelson Mandela during the period Mandela was incarcerated (27 years). During that period, Winnie Mandela was brutally abused by the apartheid government, physically and mentally. The strength and resilience she showed during those times was amendable.
