Hello, I'm Andy and I live in the stunning city of Cape Town, South Africa. Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, I draw inspiration from my beautiful surroundings in everything I do.

My career began in the world of marketing and advertising, as a qualified graphic designer. However, I always felt drawn towards psychology, and in particular, human behaviour- a field that has intrigued me for as long as I can remember. The realization that I could intertwine my passions for visual communication and understanding human behaviour has set me on an exciting new course.

Currently, I am enrolled in a Social Psychology course through Coursera instructed by Scott Plous. This journey into Social Psychology has opened my eyes and mind to the many ways in which human behaviour shapes our interactions, decisions, and perceptions. As I dive deeper into this field, I feel inspired to apply what I've learned in Social Psychology into my career as I venture into user experience design. I have been inspired through this course, and plan on completing a psychology degree in my future with the end goal being in behavioural science.

I am deeply motivated to understand how Social Psychology can create more impactful marketing strategies, user experiences and make a positive societal change. The principles I have learned, helps me understand the world and people around me, and how I engage with others. I believe in the power of empathy and kindness, and I strive to embody these values every day.

No matter where I am on this journey, I cherish the opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with others. I keep an open mind, knowing that each new experience presents a chance to challenge my beliefs and expand my horizons.

Outside of my academic pursuits, I am passionate about creating art, photography, and interests in environmental care and protection.

In my spare time, you might find me capturing the beauty of everyday moments through my walks in the city or on one of the many hiking trails in Cape Town. I believe creativity is a powerful tool for self-expression and connection, and an occasional escape from the noise of daily life.

I am excited about the future and what it holds for me as I navigate this new chapter in my mid-30s. It’s a reminder that it’s never too late to pursue my passions and create meaningful change. I would love to connect with others who share similar interests or are on their own journeys of discovery, as well as find advice or feedback that could add value to my journey.
