Take the risk or lose the chance.

My name is Jelani, and it's a Swahili term for "mighty" (I unfortunately don't have the personality for the name but merely the size). I enjoy listening to rap, worship, orchestra, pop, and rock music. I played baseball, basketball, bowling, and flag football growing up. Sports taught me the value of time management, the value of sacrificing my ego for a greater cause, the joys of community, and the value of practice and persistence in the quest for improvement. I have been a wrestling fan since I was 6 years old, and my favorite wrestler is MJF from All Elite Wrestling because he can adapt his character to whichever story he finds himself in and knows how to garner the most crowd reaction out of the crowd with either the simplest move or the most clever insult.
I aspire to read more books because if I expand the lenses of my imaginations by seeing a world from another person's eyes, it makes having empathy for the world much easier. I used to fear choosing a career because I didn't want to make the wrong choice but I learned how there's a lesson in every failure that can propel me closer to my desired destination, so it's best to keep pursuing until I land in nirvana. With that said, I aspire to learn as many skills as possible through Coursera because it's cost efficient and has a vast library of subjects to choose from, so I'm sure that'll find my ideal career. I chose Social Psychology as my first course through Coursera because while at Francis Lewis High School, I took AP Psychology and found it very interesting, so it wouldn't hurt to pursue the topic further.
