I Shall Persevere

My name is Melody Amis and I am a mother of two, seeking to settle into a career that has purpose while bringing betterment to the world around me. I have always been a sociable person who really loves getting to know people. I am motivated to learn anything and everything I can about culture, behavior, psychology, and the list goes on. I hope to find a career path that engages my sense of curiosity while challenging me to grow and improve every day.
I am a very energetic and upbeat individual, who thrives on interaction. I have over twenty-five years of experience collaborating with people from all social classes. In customer service I learned to see the world from many different perspectives. I learned to ask questions, and really listen to the experience of others. In health care, as a caregiver for elderly and disabled patients I learned the value of compassion, understanding and life as a gift to us all. While in management roles I used my skills in positive psychology and mindfulness to raise team morale, strengthen communication skills, and learned to be confident in my leadership abilities. I valued the thoughts and input from my team thus creating a mutually respectful environment.
As a survivor of multiple traumatic events in my life, I would like to take the skills I have learned and share them with other survivors. PTSD, trauma, setbacks, and fear held me captive for a long time. I want to share the hope and strength of my story with others. I want a life full of laughter, love, and a fierce passion for social empowerment. In my spare time I take every opportunity to engage in education and my community. I hope to live each of my days ever growing, helping, and encouraging those around me.
