Tarah Amburgey
Hi, my name is Tarah Amburgey.
I come from a very cute small town outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. I quickly realized that my personality and dreams would soon carry me outside of those city limits. I studied at a preforming arts high school and fell in love with all thing's music. I played violin, excelling to the top of my class, purely based on passion and persistence. Soon after high school graduation, I moved out of my parents house at the age of 17. I love the independence and pride that I've provided for myself. After a week vacation in Arizona, I knew I need to make the move.
Once I arrived in Arizona, I spent most of my twenties pouring myself into the social scene and exploring. I worked in the hospitality industry working at music venues, restaurant, and local sports bars. After many years of burning the candle at both ends, I really took a look at what my future would be like. I set some goals, added a timeline and enrolled myself into Esthetics school. I learned a lot about myself during this time as I was working full time at night and going to school full time during the day. As I graduated, feeling extremely proud and accomplished, I still felt lost in what direction I wanted to go. The years following I would work as a makeup artist specializing in bridal makeup, all the while, still working part time at the local sports bar.
Fast forward a few years, I decided to advance my career in the beauty industry and become a certified lash artist. I sought after the best mentors, studied the craft and learned to love the art of lashing. I worked from home part time, starting off my business in the second bedroom of my apartment. After years of training, building a clientele and trying to find the courage, I took a leap of faith and opened my own salon studio.
I've maintained my employment at the local Sportsbar after all of these years, and after starting this course, I'm realizing that people are interesting and complicated and I as a bartend, I get the opportunity to study people during ever shift. The entertainment is top tier!
I've met so many wonderful people over the years that have led me to stepping out of my comfort zone, experiencing different cultures and traveling around the world. I would be lying to myself if I said I didn't love the hospitality industry. Just like the beauty industry, I get to make people feel good, enjoy their time with others and most importantly I like to think I make an impact on the lives of those around me.
I am full of curiosity, excitement and an undeniable urge to see new parts of the world. I can only hope to spend my days laughing, eating good food and spending time who those I love.
Thanks for stopping by,
Tarah.
