Remember when you dreamed of being right where you are now?
Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland until 2010 when I left on a solo travel adventure which ultimately spanned almost a decade. During that time I lived and worked across 4 different continents and, much like my dad, all whilst leading an extreme sports lifestyle. From snowboarding seasons and downhill mountain bike summers with plenty of injuries along the way, to exploring the cenotes of Mexico for a couple of years, and all the fun that goes along with that way of life in between. It was a care-free, exhilarating, and hectic existence. However, it became lonely and I yearned for stability, love and a slower pace of life.
With perfect timing in 2018 I 'matched' my now husband online while we were on opposite sides of the world. After our first conversation I knew he was the man I would change everything for. We spoke online/video called for hours a day before finally flying to meet face to face 6 months later and it was magic! Within weeks I had quit my job, packed my things and moved thousands of miles away to be together. We married just 10 weeks later, I became an Australian Permanent Resident 2.5 years after that, gave birth to our son in 2021 and I'm now currently 7 months pregnant with our daughter. Needless to say I'm a firm believer in first impressions, love at first sight, and thin slices!
We now follow his job as an Airforce Pilot Instructor and currently live in The Middle East. Being a full time stay at home mum and housewife on an isolated compound has been a huge shift, and has presented it's fair share of challenges. After a couple of mental health struggles (borderline extreme postpartum depression, and a recent ADHD diagnosis) I have a desire to understand the brain more, how things are connected, and how the mind works. I have never studied before however being here has given me the freedom to improve myself and learn. My goal is to gain a few certificates, a deeper understanding into myself, and to find a potential new career path to eventually help others with similar struggles.
