Dear Colleagues:

We would like to call your attention to the Masters Program in Social Psychology at San Diego State University. Our Masters Program is a research-oriented program that is ideally suited for those students who need advanced training and research experience to strengthen their profiles in preparation for application to Ph.D. programs, or for those who wish to explore graduate level work before making a commitment to Ph.D. training. If you know of undergraduate students in your program or labs who are eager to conduct research and learn what graduate work in social psychology is like, then please encourage them to look into our program at SDSU. Below are just some of the highlights of our program.

We have an active research faculty who specialize in such areas as stereotyping and prejudice, implicit cognition, social rejection, intergroup relations, attitudes and social influence, self and identity, and birth cohort differences. We have ample resources to conduct research, and most students receive a two-year stipend or some other form of financial support either through an RA or TA-ship. Our emphasis on research-based training is reflected in the SDSU rank as the No. 1 most productive research university among schools with 14 or fewer Ph.D. programs, based on the Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index.

The core Social Psychology faculty consists of Jeff Bryson, Thierry Devos, Richard Graf, David Marx, Judy Price, Radmila Prislin, and Jean Twenge. Adjunct and affiliated faculty include David Armor, Scott Roesch, Melody Sadler, and Emilio Ulloa. More information about our program can be found here:

http://www.psychology.sdsu.edu/new-web/

Please inform students who may be interested in our research master program that all application materials must be received by the SDSU Office of Graduate Admissions and the Department of Psychology by February 1, 2008.

Thanks!

David
