SELF AND IDENTITY. The Psychology department at LEHIGH UNIVERSITY invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective Fall 2008. We seek a social psychologist whose core research interests are in self and identity. We are especially interested in scholars who address some facet of collective identity and whose work therefore has relevance to group behavior or intergroup relations. Preference will be given to candidates with a cognitive orientation (broadly construed). The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a vigorous research program that will attract external funding and contribute to the department’s distinctive undergraduate and Ph.D. programs (see www.lehigh.edu/~inpsy/inpsy.html). Ability to contribute to Lehigh's Globalization and Social Change initiative is also desirable.

For full consideration please send a vita, statement of research and teaching interest, representative papers, and three letters of reference to the following address: Michael Gill, Self and Identity Search Committee, Lehigh University, Department of Psychology, 17 Memorial Drive East, Bethlehem, PA 18015-3068. Complete applications received by November 1, 2007 will receive full consideration, but applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

The College of Arts and Sciences at Lehigh is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Lehigh University is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer. Lehigh University provides comprehensive benefits including partner benefits.
