Lisa Feldman Barrett Receives NIH Pioneer Award
Posted by: David DeSteno
Title/Position: Associate Professor of Psychology
School/Organization: Northeastern University
Sent to listserv of: SPSP
Date posted: September 18th, 2007

I'm happy to report that one of our own, Lisa Feldman Barrett, has just been awarded the NIH Director's Pioneer Award. For those not familiar with the award, the NDPA is designed to support individual scientists of exceptional creativity who propose pioneering approaches to major challenges in biomedical and behavioral research. Only 10 or so awards are made each year across all NIH supported sciences, with each consisting of a significant investment in the scientist to conduct high-risk research that has the potential to be transformative in nature. For Lisa, this work will focus on reconceptualizing current models of emotion.

For those interested, the official announcement can be found at:

Congrats, Lisa!
