Social psychology PhDs will be considered for this position:

The Santa Clara University Psychology Department is seeking to hire a full-time tenure-track faculty member to begin September 2008. Candidates applying for the level of assistant professor are preferred, but the search is open to all ranks. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or in related areas. Advanced ABDs may apply if the Ph.D. will be completed by September 1, 2008. The candidate should demonstrate a record of quality teaching, a strong publication record, and a commitment to research collaborations with undergraduate students. The candidate must also be able to teach at least one of the following: introductory psychology, statistics, and/or research methods. Possible interdisciplinary collaboration with the Leavey School of Business will be considered favorably.

Santa Clara University is a Jesuit Catholic University located about 50 miles south of San Francisco in the heart of Silicon Valley, and is home to many internationally known businesses. Candidates should send curriculum vitae, three letters of reference, examples of scholarly work, evidence of teaching excellence (e.g., course syllabi, student evaluations) and a letter of application that includes a statement of teaching philosophy, research plans, and experience of working with people of diverse cultures and identities.
