 Two Positions at the University of Kentucky

The Department of Psychology at the University of Kentucky is hiring two tenure-track assistant professors to start in Fall of 2008:

SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY: The particular research area of the scholar we seek is open. We seek scholars with a strong research program, potential to attract extramural funding, and commitment to excellent mentoring and teaching who will add to our current strengths. Applicants with strong methodological skills and teaching interests (e.g., structural equation modeling) will be especially noted. Current members of the social psychology area include Christia Brown, Nathan DeWall, Monica Harris, Sung Hee Kim, and Richard Smith. Applicants should submit a vita, statements of research and teaching interests, reprints and preprints, and arrange for three confidential letters of reference to be sent to: Social Psychology Search Committee, Department of Psychology, 115 Kastle Hall, University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY 40506-0044. CHILDREN AT RISK. We seek a person with a strong research program in any area of psychology relating to some aspect of “Children at Risk” (e.g., for educational failure, social problems, mental health problems, or physical health problems such as obesity). The position is part of an initiative by the College of Arts and Sciences that will result in 3 new faculty positions in Psychology and 2 new faculty positions in Sociology. Although qualified candidates should have documented training in developmental psychology, we emphasize that candidates from any subdiscipline in psychology will be considered. Candidates will be evaluated with respect to the strength of their research program and their commitment to excellent mentoring and teaching.
