Please see the ad below for information about a tenure-track position in social psychology at Miami University. MIAMI UNIVERSITY — ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY. The Department of Psychology at Miami University invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Social Psychology, to begin August 2008, at the assistant professor level. We seek candidates whose expertise complements and extends existing strengths of the social area within the domain of social cognition, broadly construed (e.g., judgment and decision making, cognitive processes underlying interpersonal or group phenomena, embodied cognition). Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. prior to starting the position.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish a program of impactful research in social psychology leading to scholarly productivity and external funding. The successful candidate also must be committed to high-quality teaching and advising at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and to university and professional service. Our department features an active graduate program in social psychology (as well as in clinical and brain/cognitive psychology), a reputation for outstanding undergraduate education, and excellent resources for research and teaching. Our new psychology building (opened Fall, 2006) provides spacious state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities.
