Colleagues --

Hi. Please see the ad below for a post-doctoral position at ASU's Global Institute for Sustainability; an experimental social psychologist, especially one interested in environment issues, would be perfect for the job. Note also that we have a thriving, collaborative social psychology program at ASU (http://www.asu.edu/clas/psych/gprogram/social/), and that anyone taking that job would also be welcomed into our group.

Please don't contact me directly about the job; the relevant contact person is named below.

Regards,
Steve Neuberg
______________

The Global Institute for Sustainability (GIOS) and the Decision Center for a Desert City (DCDC) is seeking a Psychologist to fill a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ.

DCDC has developed a systems dynamics model of Central Arizona water supply and demand under varying rates of population growth and different climate change scenarios. This model is visually presented in ASU's Decision Theater. We are seeking a researcher who can design and conduct well-controlled experimental studies that evaluate the impact of Decision Theater presentations on human decision-making processes.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment in one of the following subject areas: environmental psychology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, or experimental psychology. Candidates must have a background and interest in the cognitive and social processes that underlie human decision-making, and published research that demonstrates experience in experimental research methods and data analysis. Desired qualifications include a background in theory and research pertaining to the human use of environmental resources. A background check is required for employment.

Application deadline is June 22, 2007; if not filled, every week thereafter until search is closed. Please send cover letter, curriculum vitae, and names, addresses and phone numbers of three professional references to Karen Gronberg, DCDC EP Search, Global Institute of Sustainability, Arizona State University, PO Box 873211, Tempe, AZ 85287-3211 or by email to gronberg@asu.edu.
