Postdoctoral position in Clermont-Ferrand, France:
The "Laboratory for Social and Cognitive Psychology" at the University of Clermont-Ferrand, France, invites applications for an ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche)-funded postdoctoral fellow position. The fellow will be engaged in an ongoing project on social power, within-group differentiation and pressure to conform (principal investigator: Markus Brauer).
The "Laboratoire de Psychologie Sociale et Cognitive" (LAPSCO) comprises 25 active researchers and 40 graduate students, about one third of whom are social psychologists. It provides an intellectually stimulating environment for both basic and applied research. The numerous publications in high impact journals and the list if internationally renowned guest speakers testify to the LAPSCO's high scientific standards. See also:

The postdoctoral fellow's primary tasks will be to coordinate empirical studies and to analyze national survey data. Along with a competitive salary, the fellow will be provided with a laptop computer and conference travel funds. Excellent data analysis skills and mastery of both French and English are required. The position starts on September 1, 2007. The appointment is for ten months, with possible extension.

Le post-doc sera engagé dans un projet à long terme sur le pouvoir social, la différentiation intra-groupe et la pression à la conformité (responsable scientifique: Markus Brauer).

Les tâches principales du chercheur post-doctorant seront la coordination d'études empiriques et l'analyse des données issues des sondages nationaux (français et étrangers). Le chercheur recevra un salaire compétitif ainsi qu'un ordinateur portable et des fonds pour pouvoir assister à un congrès scientifique. D'excellentes connaissances en analyse de données et la maîtrise du français et de l'anglais sont nécessaires. La prise de fonction débute le 1er Septembre 2007, pour une période de 10 mois, avec possibilité de prolongation.

Les candidats doivent soumettre un CV avec liste de publications, les noms et les coordonnés de trois personnes pouvant fournir des lettres de recommandation, et une dissertation d'une page environ décrivant leurs intérêts de recherche.
