POSTDOCTORAL APPOINTMENT: HEATH PSYCHOLOGY
Health, Emotion, & Behavior Laboratory
Department of Psychology, Yale University

The Health, Emotion, and Behavior (HEB) Laboratory anticipates an opening for a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Psychology at Yale University to begin on or about July 1, 2007, for two years. Continuation is possible pending available funds.

Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, and writing up findings from large, community-based health communication interventions. Responsibilities also may include other research projects depending on the interests of the candidate. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in health or social psychology or a related field, a desire to work with and manage a team of researchers, and a willingness to take the lead on analyzing data and writing manuscripts for publication. Our current health research focuses on health cognition, communication, and behavior. Recent studies aim to promote cancer prevention and early detection behaviors – specifically, physical activity and healthy eating.

Position Requirements

1. Ph.D. required
2. Thorough understanding of research design, quantitative and qualitative research methods necessary for implementing community-based interventions.
3. An established or emerging interest in cancer prevention and control research
4. Excellent written/oral communications and presentation skills
