Dear colleagues,

Supported by a grant from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation), we are conducting a meta-analysis on the topic:

“The effect of applied prevention programs against prejudice, and/or aggression/hate crime towards ethnic minorities.”

Our main purpose is to assess the effectiveness of the various available programs.

In order to include as many of the relevant studies as possible, the analysis shall not be limited to published documents only. Therefore, we are currently collecting as many as possible eligible unpublished documents and difficult-to-retrieve documents as well as documents in press. That’s why it would be very helpful to us if those of you who have access to those documents would make them available to us. This could be done by sending it to us either in the form of an electronic version or in the form of a hardcopy.

In return for your help, we will be pleased to send you a copy of our meta-analytic results when we have completed them – if you are interested.

The documents should satisfy the following criteria:

(a) the language of the document is either in English or German.

(b) the document deals with the evaluation of an intervention program for the prevention (primary, secondary, and/or tertiary – i.e. for avoidance, and/or reduction) of prejudice, and/or aggression/hate crime toward ethnic minorities.

(c) the evaluation is primarily quantitative.

(d) the document contains those statistical information which permits the computation of effect sizes. If such information is not included in the document, we would be very grateful if you would make it available to us.

Studies that did not produce significant results and studies that produced results which did not correspond with expectations are of equal interest to us as those that produced significant results in correspondence with research hypotheses.

The documents implied in the computations will be integrated in the bibliography of the analysis. Therefore, please indicate how you would like your work to be cited (i.e., author(s), title, year, etc.).

If you have any question please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you very much for your support.

With kind regards,

Dr. Ulrich Wagner,
