_____________

TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION (AREA OF INTEREST OPEN): The Psychology Department at the University of Nebraska at Omaha seeks to fill a position to begin August 2006. The successful candidate will teach two-three courses per semester depending on department needs and demonstrated research productivity. These courses would be chosen from among introductory psychology, statistics, research methods, a junior/senior-level survey course in their area of interest, and perhaps a capstone senior-level laboratory; academic advisement of undergraduates is expected as well.

The successful candidate will also be expected to develop an active research program, particularly one that involves undergraduates in their lab. This position requires an earned doctorate in psychology as well as both a commitment to and demonstrated proficiency in teaching undergraduates. A desirable qualification would be the ability to contribute to one of our principle graduate programs, M.A./Ph.D. programs in developmental psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, and psychobiology, plus an Ed.S. program in school psychology. Candidates must apply online at: http://careers.unomaha.edu/ and must attach to that application a cover letter describing their teaching philosophy and research program as well as a curriculum vitae which includes a list of references. Hard copies of representative publications, teaching evaluations and three letters of recommendation should be sent to: Professor Kenneth Deffenbacher, Department of Psychology, University of Nebraska at Omaha, Omaha, NE 68182-0274. The university and department are particularly interested in receiving applications from members of underrepresented groups.
