The Department of Psychology of the American University invites applications for a tenure track position in Cognitive, Developmental or Social Psychology at the Assistant Professor level effective Fall, 2006. Responsibilities include teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students, mentoring women and minority graduate students, supervision of student research, conducting and publishing research and participating in department, college and university service activities. The Department has doctoral programs in Behavior, Cognition and Neuroscience and in Clinical Psychology (APA-accredited) as well as a master’s program in General Psychology.

Qualifications include Ph.D., experience in undergraduate teaching and evidence of scholarship and research. Send curriculum vitae, letter describing teaching and research experience, (p)reprints and three letters of recommendation to: Anthony Ahrens, Chair, Search Committee, Department of Psychology, American University, Washington, DC 20016-8062.
