Assistant Professor - Social Psychology

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, healthcare, and service, is seeking applicants for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level in social psychology. We are seeking an individual whose research program and teaching interests focus on the self (e.g., self regulatory focus, self-serving biases, etc.) but we are also interested in applicants with interests that bridge between social psychology and our other program concentrations of developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience. Qualifications include a Ph.D. and the ability to develop a strong program of research and extramural funding. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate's areas of expertise. The department has 28 full time faculty, a large undergraduate studies program, and doctoral programs in clinical psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, and experimental psychology (with concentrations in social psychology, developmental psychology, and cognitive neuroscience).

All applications must be made online at http://jobs.slu.edu; applications should include a curriculum vitae and a letter that describes research and teaching interests. Also send three letters of recommendation and copies of representative reprints, course evaluation summaries, and sample syllabi to: Social Psychology Search Committee, Department of Psychology, Saint Louis University, Shannon Hall 219, 221 N. Grand Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63103-2097. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2012 and continue until the position is filled. Saint Louis University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer, and encourages nominations of and applications of women and minorities.
