Dear Colleagues,
An update and an opportunity from the National Science Foundation…
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Kellina Craig-Henderson in her promotion to Deputy Director of the Division of Social and Economic Sciences (SES) here at NSF. Kelli has served as program director of the social psychology program in the Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences (BCS) since 2005, and many of you know her in that role. While I am sad to see Kelli leave the social psychology program and the BCS division, I know that she will continue to promote social and behavioral science from her new position as Deputy Division Director.
As Kelli noted in a separate email, we are currently searching for a new program director for the social psychology program, which has now been posted at:

With Brett moving on and Kelli changing divisions, we are looking for someone to direct the program starting this summer or even sooner. Fortunately, we are currently finalizing an arrangement with someone who is highly respected and well known in the field of social psychology to assist the program through the upcoming review cycle. We are very appreciative of his generous service to NSF and the field during this critical time.
And now the opportunity -- please consider applying! Maybe you are at a smaller school and looking for a chance to try something new. Maybe you are nearing retirement and want to give back to the field through this significant service. Maybe you just want to come and live in Washington DC for a few years. There are many reasons to take advantage of this opportunity. You do not have to be a “superstar scientist,” or even an NSF grantee to apply. You do need to have excellent communication and organizational skills and overall good judgment.
