 Tenure-Track Job Opening in Social Psychology

The Department of Psychology of Metropolitan State College of Denver invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Social Psychology to begin Fall 2012.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Teach 4 courses (12 hours) per semester; the teaching load will consist of such undergraduate courses as social psychology and related areas, research methods and statistics, introductory psychology. Other responsibilities include engaging in scholarly activities related to social psychology; advising students; performing Departmental, College, and professional service; participating in course and program development; performing other duties as assigned by the Chair.

Required Qualifications:
Doctorate in Psychology completed no later than June 1, 2012

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate completed by 12/01/2011. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching undergraduate psychology courses such as social psychology, research methods/statistics, psychology of prejudice, psychology of gender, industrial/organizational psychology, introductory psychology, or multicultural psychology. Associated professional experience with recent published research in refereed psychology-related journals. Ability to involve students in research. Applicants with demonstrated experience in the recruitment and/or retention of underserved students, including students of color, preferred. Teaching experience with non-traditional students and ability to use appropriate educational technology.
