IARR Seeking New Editor for Personal Relationships
Posted by: Susan Sprecher
Title/Position: Professor
School/Organization: Illinois State University
Sent to listserv of: SPSP, SESP, SPSSI
Date posted: October 7th, 2011

The IARR Publications Committee is soliciting nominations for the editorship of Personal Relationships (PR). The journal is committed to publishing high quality research on personal relationships from multiple perspectives and disciplines. Following an initial period of preparation from January 15, 2012 through May 31, 2012, the incoming editor will begin processing new submissions on June 1, 2012. The length of the term will be 4 years.

Self-nominations for this important and rewarding role are welcomed. A completed nomination package should include the candidate’s vita, the names of three references who can address the candidate’s qualifications as an editor, and a letter from the candidate that describes his or her views on editing the journal and anticipated support from his or her home institution. The letter could address issues such as editing philosophy, goals for the journal, description of how he or she would run the journal, and any initiatives to further enhance the journal. PR operates through ScholarOne, a market leader in automated web-based, peer review, and online submission systems.

All nomination materials should be received by December 1, 2011. Nominations should be sent (electronically) to Sandra Metts at smmetts@ilstu.edu. Questions may be directed to any member of the Publications Committee: Sandra Metts at smmetts@ilstu.edu, F. Scott Christopher (Scott.Christopher@asu.edu), Paul Mongeau (Paul.Mongeau@asu.edu), Harry Reis (reis@psych.rochester.edu), or Susan Sprecher (sprecher@ilstu.edu). Questions may also be sent to the current editor of PR, Lorne Campbell (lcampb23@uwo.ca). For information regarding the operations of ScholarOne (formerly ManuscriptCentral) and the production process, queries may be sent to Erin Bogle, Senior Production Manager for Social Sciences and Humanities, Wiley-Blackwell (ebogle@wiley.com).
