PROFESSOR IN PSYCHOLOGY (CHAIR) - REF: 01850

This is an exciting opportunity for a psychologist committed to excellence in research and teaching to join a strong team of psychologists in the Department of Psychology and Counselling in the School of Health and Social Care, based at Avery Hill, Eltham, London, United Kingdom. We seek candidates who have the ability to make a significant contribution to the Department and the potential to develop both their own profile and that of the department further to achieve enhanced national and international recognition.

You will have a track record of undertaking internationally recognised research and winning funding in the field. In addition to undertaking research, the appointee will also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes in the Department. We have made a strong commitment to Psychology with both research support and the appointment of new staff, and we anticipate that a strong submission will be made to the Research Excellence Framework in 2013, which is a national assessment of Research Excellence. Candidates with research interests in any area of psychology relevant to the department's research profile and teaching needs will be considered. Excellence in research and relevant teaching and the potential to develop the work of the department further will be the main criteria for appointment.

Appointees will also be subject to meeting the university's criteria for the appointment of professors.

Salary Scale: £57421 - £62442 per annum inclusive of London weighting allowance.
