 Tenure-Track Position in Social Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Colgate University announces a tenure-track position in the area of social psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning fall semester 2012. Completion of Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. The department seeks candidates who have an active research program on the psychology of stereotyping, prejudice, intergroup relations, race, or ethnicity.

Colgate is a highly selective liberal arts college where excellence in teaching and research are expected and supported. The appointee will join a psychology and neuroscience faculty deeply committed to a strong, research-oriented program. The teaching load is equivalent to five courses per year. Teaching responsibilities are likely to include staff-taught courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, or Advanced Statistics), Social Psychology, upper-level courses in the candidate’s specialty area, and supervision of senior thesis work. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
