Dear Colleagues,

This is a reminder that submissions for the 33rd annual meeting of the Society of Southeastern Social Psychologists (SSSP) are due Sept. 1, 2011 (midnight EST). This year we are accepting submissions for poster presentations, 15 minute oral presentations, AND symposia. We are pleased to have Dr. Barbara Fredrickson delivering the keynote address at SSSP, and we encourage you to be part of what promises to be a fantastic program by submitting your abstracts for posters, talks, and symposia.

Submissions can be submitted on the conference website:

http://www.sssp2011.yolasite.com/

You will need to provide a title, author information (authors and affiliations), a 250 word abstract for review, and a 50 word abstract for the conference program. Symposia submissions should include a title for the session as well as titles and abstracts for each presentation included in the symposium.

SSSP 2011 will be held in Johnson City, Tennessee, on November 4th and 5th, 2011. The conference is being hosted by East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and will be held at the Millenium Centre in Johnson City. Johnson City is located in the northeast tip of Tennessee, and is approximately 60 miles north of Asheville, NC, and 100 miles east of Knoxville, Tennessee. It is within driving distance of many universities in TN, KY, VA, WV, NC, SC, GA, AL, and even OH.

Fees for early registration (postmarked by October 14th) remain affordable and unchanged from last year ($45 for students, $60 for faculty and other professionals). SSSP is a self-sustaining professional organization with no membership dues. Conference fees pay for the Friday evening reception, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and conference materials. Registration forms can be downloaded from the SSSP website. Additional information about the meeting and the program will be posted on the SSSP website when available.

Please share this announcement with your colleagues and students, and feel free to email us with any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you in Johnson City!

Sincerely,
