The Learning Sciences graduate program in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University is currently accepting applications from undergraduate and master's students for Fall 2011 admission. The Learning Sciences program provides a theory-based and research intensive curriculum as well as opportunities for participation in research laboratories in the fields of learning and instruction in formal and informal settings across the lifespan.

Faculty members in the program employ diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives, are highly interdisciplinary in their training and mentorship (e.g., social, developmental, educational psychology), consistently funded by national and international granting agencies (e.g., SSHRC, FQRSC, NIH, NSF, IES, AVH), and rank among the most productive researchers in the field of educational psychology. Research topics explored by faculty are also notably varied and range from self-regulated learning, technology-rich learning environments, and discourse analysis to epistemological beliefs, achievement motivation and emotions, and intervention programs in both learner and instructor populations.

Student funding is also available from departmental and faculty member grants, as are research fellowships from provincial and federal granting agencies (e.g., SSHRC, CGS, FQRSC).
