The Department of Psychology and the Honors College at the University of Maine anticipate hiring a lecturer in Social Psychology with an anticipated start date of September 2011. We seek applicants with a commitment to undergraduate and interdisciplinary teaching and a record of involving undergraduates in research. Applications from scholars with research specializations that can complement the Department of Psychology’s growing focus on psychophysiology and health and/or the application of basic social psychological research to social problems (e.g. prejudice, environmental sustainability, obesity) are encouraged. Experience with Honors education is desirable. The position is a joint appointment between the Honors College and the Department of Psychology, consists of a 3/3 teaching load and is a 1 year, renewable appointment (pending annual evaluation and reappointment). Application requirements include a letter of interest in the position, a C.V., a statement of teaching interests and philosophy, a statement of research interests, three letters of reference, and representative reprints, course syllabi, and teaching evaluations (if available).
