Dear Colleagues,

Lani Shiota, José Soto, and I are writing with a reminder that poster abstracts for the 2011 Emotion Preconference are due in just under two weeks on Monday, November 1, 2010. The Emotion Preconference will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Society of Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) in San Antonio, TX, USA, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. It will run from approximately 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

This year's meeting promises to be excellent. We will host invited addresses by Barbara L. Fredrickson and Daniel Kahneman. We'll also host two symposia. One will feature Christopher K. Hsee, Jennifer S. Lerner, and Baba Shiv as speakers addressing links between emotion and decision making. The other will feature Nathan S. Consedine, Sally S. Dickerson, and Judith T. Moskowitz addressing links between emotion and health.

Poster abstract submission guidelines are available online:

http://www.tufts.edu/~hurry01/emotionpreconference/posters.html

Please note that submitting a poster abstract commits at least one of the authors to registering for and attending the meeting if the poster is accepted. However, submitting a poster abstract in and of itself does not constitute registering for the preconference. Please separately register online:

http://www.tufts.edu/~hurry01/emotionpreconference/registration.html

More information about the pre-conference can be found at:

http://www.emotionpreconference.org/

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the preconference organizers: Lani Shiota, José Soto, or Heather Urry.

Best,

Heather Urry
