The Department of Psychology at Oakland University (www2.oakland.edu/psych/) invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Social Psychology (broadly defined) at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall, 2011. Qualified applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in psychology, with quantitative expertise such that the candidate is able to teach upper division undergraduate statistics and graduate-level statistics. The department is developing a graduate program to be implemented in Fall 2012. The teaching load is four courses per academic year (two in each of the Fall and Winter semesters). Qualified applicants must show potential that leads to developing a productive research program as evidenced through publications in academic journals, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and becoming involved in university and professional activities.

Applicants must submit a statement of professional interests and goals regarding teaching and research and up to three representative reprints or preprints. Please arrange for the submission of at least three letters of reference. A market competitive salary plus excellent fringe benefits are provided. Oakland University is a state-supported comprehensive research institution with nearly 20,000 students located in a suburban area 30 miles north of Detroit (see www.oakland.edu).
