Unpublished Data on Perfectionism and Depression

Dear Researchers,

We are in the final stages of a comprehensive meta-analysis examining the relationship of self-oriented perfectionism, socially prescribed perfectionism, and depression. Our systematic review focuses on the Hewitt and Flett Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale and adaptations of this scale for children, adolescent, and foreign countries. Our review also includes the short form of the H&F MPS. Right now, the review contains about 110 studies and published dissertations.

We are currently looking for unpublished data (i.e., theses, conference presentations, unpublished manuscripts, technical reports, submitted articles, in press articles) in which a correlation is reported between depression, self-oriented perfectionism, and socially prescribed perfectionism. The data will be included and cited in our review if sufficient information is available to describe the sample and the methodology. Electronic format (PDF, Word, PowerPoint) would be preferable. However, feel free to let me know if the data are only available in paper format, and we will try to make proper arrangements to obtain a copy of your data.

We are at the final stages of this project. Our closing date to receive unpublished manuscripts is July 15th 2010. After that time, we will proceed with our statistical analyses.

Please feel free to forward this email to colleagues who may have unpublished data relevant for this meta-analysis.

Best regards,

Patrick Gaudreau, Ph.D.
