The University of Vienna invites applications for a Ph.D. position (pre-doc) at the Institute of Economic Psychology, Educational Psychology, and Evaluation for a maximum of four years. Starting date will be as soon as possible.

The University of Vienna was founded in 1365 and is the oldest university in the German-speaking world and one of the largest in Central Europe. At present, about 85,000 students are enrolled at the University of Vienna, in 182 courses. The University of Vienna is also the largest teaching and research institution in Austria with close to 8,600 employees, 6,500 of which are scientists and academics.

Candidates should have finished their Masters or a comparable degree (e.g., Diploma) in psychology or marketing within the last 3 years, and are expected to participate in a Ph.D. program in psychology. Experience in experimental research and data analysis will be an advantage. Successful candidates should have a strong interest in social psychology, and consumer research.

The assignment includes:

• Dissertation with a focus on consumer research or social psychology
• Participation in research projects
• Publications and conference presentations
• Teaching and exams
• Student mentoring
• Administration

Expected profile:

• Completed Diploma or Masters Degree in Psychology or Marketing
• Research focus on Social Psychology, Consumer Psychology and/or Marketing
• Excellent skills in methodology and statistics
• Research experience
• Interpersonal skills
