2nd Annual Conference
Society for the Study of Motivation (SSM)

We were remiss in failing to issue earlier a reminder of the deadline for poster and symposium proposal submissions for the upcoming meeting of the SSM. Consequently, we have decided to circulate this reminder and extend the submission deadline to March 15, 2009.

As described in the Call for Proposals, the SSM conference will take place Monday, May 25, 2009, in affiliation with the APS convention. Both the SSM conference and the APS convention will be located in the San Francisco Marriott, San Francisco, CA.

The full program for the SSM meeting is not yet set. However, we currently have scheduled invited presentations by Bernard Weiner (UCLA) and Jennifer Beer (University of Texas at Austin). We also have scheduled a Presidential symposium that will include Carol Dweck (Stanford University), Jutta Heckhausen (University of California - Irvine), Ed Deci (University of Rochester), and Jack van Honk (Utrecht University).
