 Zimbardo Video on TED.com
Posted by: Phil Zimbardo
Title/Position: Professor Emeritus

Sent to listserv of: SPSP, SESP, SPSSI
Date posted: September 24th, 2008

There is a new 23-minute video just launched of my TED conference talk on the psychology of evil and the psychology of everyday heroes:

http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/philip_zimbardo_on_the_psychology_of_evil.html

TITLE: Phil Zimbardo: How ordinary people become monsters ... or heroes

DESCRIPTION: Psychologist Phil Zimbardo knows how easy it is for nice people to turn bad -- he ran the notorious Stanford Prison Experiment, where regular kids willingly became torturers. Zimbardo was an expert witness at the Abu Ghraib trials, and shares his insight -- and previously unseen photos -- from that horror. But now he's also studying the flip side -- how easy it is to become a hero, and how we can help our kids rise to that challenge.

You can also view the video from the Lucifer Effect web site:

I'd appreciate your comments if you go to the TED site.

Thanks,
Phil Zimbardo
