The Trinity University Psychology Department is seeking two tenure-track assistant professors.

Position 1: quantitative specialist with interests in personality, decision-making, health, or organizational psychology.

Position 2: neuroscience with an emphasis on psychological processes (e.g., learning, cognitive, social processes).

Position 1: TRINITY UNIVERSITY, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY: Tenure-track position (assistant professor), beginning August, 2009. The successful candidate must have a strong background in quantitative methods, in order to teach our year-long undergraduate statistics course at a conceptual level. The candidate must also be able to develop and sustain an active research program, resulting in peer-reviewed publication, in personality, decision-making, health, or organizational psychology. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the area of specialization, in addition to statistics and methods. Trinity University is a selective, primarily undergraduate institution of approximately 2500 students and 240 faculty, situated in the heart of San Antonio near major medical and research facilities. Trinity values excellence in teaching, including mentoring of research students. We offer ample research space and funds for professional development. Candidates must hold the PhD by time of employment. Application materials include CV, reprints/preprints, and statement of teaching philosophy. Position 2: TRINITY UNIVERSITY, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY: Tenure-track position (assistant professor), beginning August, 2009. We invite applications from candidates in neuroscience; with an emphasis on psychological processes (e.g., learning, cognitive, social processes). This position, along with one additional junior and two senior-level positions in biology and physics, will enrich our newly implemented undergraduate major in neuroscience. The successful candidate will be capable of developing and sustaining an active research program, resulting in peer-reviewed publication. Teaching responsibilities include an introductory course and lab in neuroscience, undergraduate research supervision, and other courses related to the candidate’s expertise in psychology. Trinity University is a selective, primarily undergraduate institution of approximately 2500 students and 240 faculty, situated in the heart of San Antonio near major medical and research facilities.
