A book has just been published that might well interest you particularly as it recognises the central importance of Social Psychology in helping us understand human behavior and evolution. Entitled "Supergenes: What Really Makes Us Human", it looks at human behavior and its central role in driving human evolution so much more rapidly than is possible on the timescales we know Darwinian, biological evolution operates. It reviews the latest results from genome sequencing research, and challenges some popular models of human behavior. It looks at numerous studies of how the behavior patterns of children and young adults are established and at social psychology studies into the essential social prerequisites for individual empowerment. It concludes that our survival and success now depends principally on our adaption to our social environment and not to our physical environment. It is the successful expression of our supercharged social genes that are the essence of our remarkable and accelerating rate of evolution today.

The book is intended for the general popular science reader. It is available on-line for browsing or downloading free-of-charge at www.supergenes.net . It is also available for purchase in hard copy form at Lulu.com (http://www.lulu.com/content/1714252). It will also be available shortly from Amazon and other bookstores.

I hope you find it interesting, and find something in it to stimulate and entertain you. If you do find it interesting, please leave your comments at the discussion group linked through the www.supergenes.net site.

Best Wishes,

Craig Mackay
