Dear Colleagues,
We invite applications for two academic positions in our new DFG-funded research project: "Democratic Persuasion: How to Make the Case for Democracy."
This innovative project seeks to understand democratic skepticism and rigorously test communicative interventions designed to reinforce democratic values. We employ diverse methodologies, including survey experiments, AI-assisted conversational interventions, and field experiments involving group discussions and one-on-one dialogues using street epistemology.
We are hiring:
(1) PhD Researcher (70%, TVL E-13, approx. €40,000/year)
(2) Postdoctoral Researcher (100%, TVL E-13, approx. €66,000/year)
The positions start in October 2025 and are limited to three years.
We offer:
• A welcoming, inclusive environment at a leading European research university
• Involvement in impactful, cutting-edge research
• Dedicated resources for professional growth and research activities
• Excellent quality of life in Munich
Ideal candidates have a background in quantitative/experimental methods, proficiency in statistical programming (R and/or Python), and an interest in political psychology, persuasion, or democracy research.
