Social Psychology
Department of Psychology
McGill University
The Department of Psychology of McGill University invites applicants for a tenure-track appointment in SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2017. Applicants must have a Ph.D. by August 1, 2017. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the potential to establish a record of significant, externally-funded research. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and supervision/mentoring at the graduate and undergraduate levels. We are particularly interested in applicants who complement our existing expertise in identity and social relations, but we will place excellence above any specific topic or methodological approach within social psychology.
We will begin considering applications on October 15, 2016 and will continue until the position is filled. Applicants should arrange for the following materials to be sent in electronic format to social-search@psych.mcgill.ca: (1) curriculum vitae; (2) description of current areas of research; (3) relevant reprints or pre-prints; (4) three confidential letters of recommendation; (5) description of teaching competencies, interests and approaches.
McGill University is committed to equity in employment and diversity. It welcomes applications from Aboriginal persons, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, persons of minority sexual orientation or gender identity, visible minorities, women, and others who may contribute to diversification. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
